About Us

Sophie started working in the HR profession since 2012, having begun her HR journey with an award-winning Employment Law Team in a Top 100 legal firm. She is CIPD qualified and attends regular updates and webinars, so that she can ensure her employment knowledge is as current as possible.

Throughout her HR career she has worked in organisations where she has been required to advise on all areas of HR; whether that be tackling tricky disciplinary or grievance meetings, managing sensitive meetings involving illness or conflicts, managing change, or dealing with complex TUPE matters. She is also particularly versed in employment business and employment agency matters.

She became an independent HR Consultant after undertaking some freelance work to businesses desperately in need of support during the pandemic and provides consultancy services to an array of different clients, across different sectors. Having worked as an HR Manager for a Cooperative buying group and Interim Head of People and Culture for Norwich Theatre, she has experience across a broad spectrum of HR matters and considers commerciality to be key when advising clients.

Sophie assists clients throughout the entire employee lifecycle, from recruitment to dismissal or resignation, and with everything in between, in addition to managing change processes such as redundancies, restructures, and TUPE matters.

Sophie provides services both on an ad-hoc basis (with clients calling when they have queries or require assistance on particular matters or projects) and also operate a retainer service for clients who feel that their business requires a more consistent HR need.

By ensuring she has up to date employment legislation understanding, she is able to assist with any staffing issues that may occur, HR process reviews and audits, policy writing, or be an external party in recruitment (or other internal) processes with her clients safe in the knowledge that her background legal understanding will ensure they are not steered down a dangerous (and costly) path.

In addition to HR services, in March 2024, Sophie became a qualified mediator and is registered with the Civil Mediation Council. Specialising in resolving disputes, Sophie offers mediation services to individuals and businesses dealing with conflicts in areas such as probate, insolvency, workplace issues, and small business disputes.
